No gavel can bring him back or heal the pain from this murder, but moments like this make us hopeful that such heinous actions don’t go unchecked.

One year ago, Ahmaud Arbery was out for a jog when he was detained and shot to death by white vigilantes. Wanda Cooper-Jones lost her son that day, and since then, has fought tirelessly to abolish Georgia’s “citizen arrest” law, as well as advocating for hate crime protections.
