Today in "This is Pre-Code Horror," boney nightmares, vampire bats, ghostly transportation and a really bad date!
Beginning a look at one of the unsung horror/genre comics, ACG's "Adventures Into the Unknown." It was one of the few pre-code titles that survived the Wertham purge and lasted well into the post-code era, running from the late 1940s through the late 1960s (170+ issues).
I call this edition of "This is Pre-Code Horror" the "Men With Interesting Hair" installment!
In a green mood...another quartet of pre-code panels that (to me anyway) define the genre. Many pre-code artists were masters at using color to create mood and tension. I've noticed a lot of green lately, so here are some of my favorite panels...
