Honestly, you could put any of the Gears games here (except 4 and Judgement)
I just love this franchise. They have so much more depth than just "burley men with chainsaw guns"
Gears 5 surprised me with how good it was but Gears 3 was the emotional hook for me
Another game I am one of the few that likes it (I play CoD games for their campaigns okay, not the PvP)
Fun as fuck story, with incredible set pieces and the suits make every mission unique. Great gunplay & while Spacey is a gross person irl, as a villain in the game he's great
Bloodborne is what got me into the Souls series. I had tried Dark Souls in the past and didn't get it, but Bloodborne changed my entire perspective, it was that good
Platinum'd the full game and its DLC, which I've only done for a few games, that's how good it was
Another surprise for me (a welcome one)
Alice Madness Returns has wonderful platforming, incredible visual design and story telling, and a delightfully macabre tone to it all
I did also play the original and enjoyed that too, though Madness Returns is definitely my favorite
Alien Isolation is one of my all time favorite horror games ever since release 10 years ago
It so perfectly captures what makes the original Alien movie great, its atmosphere and tension
Even beat it fully in VR on stream, man was that shiz scary 😅
Dishonored 2 was an incredible surprise to me. I had tried it in the past and didn't like it, but it was because I just didn't understand the gameplay loop
Beat it this year for the first time and even 100% it because I enjoyed it that much. Absolutely amazing game
Sometimes I come across things where I'm like: hmm, no wonder America has so many people that try to one up each other at every turn possible
Even something as simple as a cover for a videogame back in the 90s had to be "cool" and "radical" whereas in JP/EU it was just cute
