Happy Leap Day! It’s my OC Skylar’s birthday so I made a quick loose drawing of him and his sidekick Maru. I’ve dubbed their story “Project: Leap Year” so this seemed like an appropriate day to make them a drawing. :)
Happy Lunar New Year! I’ve been meaning to doodle some #furuba art and this seemed like a good occasion to do so! I haven’t drawn Yuki Sohma in years!! #FruitsBasket #HappyLunarNewYear
2010 > 2020 #DrawThisAgain... Same OCs, different story title! Left out the green haired character in the new version but kinda sketched her (and another) in the background loosely lol. Tried to keep the same feel but I think my use of color is improving!
2018: I was swamped with grad school work. But Miraculous Ladybug continued to inspire me. Without any time to draw for fun, I felt out of practice with drawing characters so I felt like I had to start over - starting with very simple chibi drawings.
2017: Again, senior year of college and first year of grad school took over all of my time. Design school gave me a new perspective on composition. However, this also caused a drop in my confidence in my art abilities. Managed to draw a bit over my summer break though!
2015: I pushed for more detailed work and drew a bunch in June as I didn’t have a job that summer. I drew a lot of Contestshipping/Pokemon art as well as my OCs (below, same as two in the 2010 drawing). I knew I’d have a busy upcoming school year so I did a lot of art for fun.
2012: I had a lot of computer issues (it was old/slow) this year so not a lot of digital art was made. I feel like my digital coloring took a bit of a step back this year but my understanding of anatomy was improving. Pokeshipping of course, my first OTP as a ten year old. ❤️
2011: The Zelda obsession was holding strong with the release of Skyward Sword. I tried out using different colors to shade (instead of shades/black) and learned a lot about color theory in my art class. I was super proud of this piece since I used blues/purples to shade.
2010: I was a freshman/sophomore in highschool. Super excited about writing my own comic and learning to draw anime/manga style! Created these OCs and called my comic (which is was done in a spiral notebook) “Dark Horse...”
