That Fortnite 1984 video is sincerely one of the most sinister god damn things I've seen the games industry pull, and in an industry that sells literal gambling to children and works people so hard they become "stress casualties" from the excess overtime, that's saying a lot.
So, I finally got around to playing Wintermoor Tactics Club, and there's a neat little detail in the club room. See that computer in the top left? It's an Osborne 1, a very early portable computer.
The game is set in 1981, same year the Osborne 1 was released. Top accuracy! 👍
I have a lot of time for Focus as a publisher. Over the last few years, I've especially enjoyed A Plague Tale and Vampyr, so I always keep an eye on what they're doing.
But this year?
Between Shipbreaker, Curse of the Dead Gods, and Othercide, it's been 3 for 3. 👍
"Hey Casey, how many Roguelikes are you playing at once right now?"
Uhhh.......
Most of my spending this Steam sale has been buying gifts for friends, but the stuff I did pick up for myself has been the Terminator game, the DLC for Mutant Year Zero with the Moose guy, and Curse of the Dead Gods.
Real good stuff! :3
While streaming Curse of the Dead Gods today, we broached the topic of Early Access titles, and I think generally speaking I've had nothing but excellent experience with games in EA. Just over the past few weeks, I've also been playing Shipbreaker, Griftlands, and Townscaper.
