Y'know the way something gets described as "charming" a bit too much? It's a little overused as a descriptor, but that's really how I'd describe The Serpent Rogue. Charming. And you get to be a plague doctor, which I admit is a big part of the appeal for me, not gonna lie there.

But I am extremely glad I stuck with the game and got past the jank because it is incredibly charming, engrossing, and really kinda chill The soundtrack is gorgeous, I love the artstyle, and the promise of being a little plague doctor who runs around brewing potions is wonderful.

2. Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County

The Frog Detective games have been consistently charming, witty, and well written little games that have been nothing but wonderful experience that manage to tickle my sense of humour fantastically, and 3 is no exception!

There's a few games I bought this year and haven't played yet, and really should play before getting anything else. I think Ctrl Alt Ego is a shoe-in for a game to stream in the new year.

The new DLC for Chaos Gate is great and all 'cos you get to unlock a Dreadnaught for special missions, and the new techmarine class is pretty fantastic, but there's also a story mission where you get to take your ship's techpriest Lunete into combat, and that made me very happy!
