One of the reasons I care so much about this is that my grandfather was a working artist from the early 1940s through the late 1960s.
He did work for publishers, ad agencies, and the US Navy during WWII.

Today is @emilyvdw's birthday, and my gift to her was this illustration by the lovely @InklinCustoms.
It's a peek into an alternate reality, where we became best friends as teen girls instead of waiting until our thirties before figuring out who we were.
