Now that we know that there is a "big announcement" at the end of the final episode that makes me think that Shueisha already has something planned for the future of the series, and reached an agreement with Tv Tokyo.

Pierrot only role is to say "yes" or "no" to make more episodes and Tv Tokyo only cares about money and we all know that the BC anime is one of the most viewed animes in the world. So that's why I think Shueisha came up with the idea to stop anime.
