@AliceMacleod7 Dragon Ball Z influenced a lot of media over the decades. Kishimoto admitted that Dragon Ball Z was his inspiration for Naruto. Also, official Sonic media supported by Sonic Team shows Shadow having no interest in anything Amy does. Should a girl want that as boyfriend material?
