This is the only appearance so far for this particular pedal steel player in Brandy Wages’ revolving set of band players over the decades. The lead guitar guy at left with the cowboy hat is in two other drawings. The other two guys in the corners are video techs.

So I know my Romanticism can be pretty high, but Brandy C. Wages has way more of Wile E. Coyote in her than she does of Sleeping Beauty.

After a life of rejection, harassment, grief, and isolation, Brandy has a nightmare-vision of the world lost in smoke, and she is afraid that some part of herself feels vindicated.

Once again I fully develop the main characters, then build the rest around them afterward. The story has to come out. I want to get that mix of confidence and uncertainty. This is the comeback, and they’re worried for the $ recoup on a video, which is a new expense in the ‘80s.
