Dr Rudolf Nissen (1896-1981) performed the first fundoplication in 1955 for treatment of severe reflux esophagitis. Dr Nissen was born in Neisse, then of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1948 he is described as having operated on Einstein, wrapping his AAA in cellophane….? 😳😳😳
