The fact that two of his powers are just spider-mans don’t help this. But the moment that had me eye rolling Deku out of the window was this. Yes, Deku wanting to try and Save Shiggy makes complete sense. But it fed into one of my other big dislikes of the series.
Deku bores me. He’s fine, he's a pure boi, but he is stock Shounen MC dunked in a coat of nerd paint. His character made for an amazing first chapter but he’s been just fine except for the epic moments that could have been anyone if they were the MC.
Black suit arcs is my personal term for whenever a series tries to make things SERIOUS. Add some angst, some drama, some casual suffering. A fine idea in theory but the problem is IT'S ALWAYS UNDONE. And its SO overdone that I can’t even pretend to take it seriously.
