We're calling these 'rustic dishes' because they’re made in a quick and free way to look really hand-made and with simple decoration – they don’t need great skill to make. This type of project can be very satisfying - clay therapy at its best!

This issue 37 'Me and my pot' is by Mel Condon. It's thrown in Valentine Clays’ KGM stoneware and fired to cone 7 after decorating with a patterned rolling tool and layered glazes. If you'd like your work featured, just follow the link in our Instagram bio https://t.co/bgLrC6ClYW
Another lovely project you can do with minimal tools and just a small amount of clay - pinched salt and pepper pots to look like birds in a nest. They even look great before they're fired.
Please do share your photos with us, we love to see them.

Straight-sided milk jug - another great throwing project from issue 35.
This thrown jug is designed to contain milk and fit in the door of the fridge neatly. It does, of course, have many other uses, and is great for custard and sauces, or as a rustic vase.
In issue 35's glazing feature, @LindaThePotter takes us through how to reglaze and refire when the first time didn't go as planned, for example with crawling. Linda also provides helpful hints and tips for correcting other glaze flaws.
