Thrilled to unveil a new portrait of me in the town hall foyer. Some critics are saying it resembles 'Napoleon' by Jacques David. I can't see it myself, but the artist Ron Tyler said he 'painted me as he sees me.' True, I gave him a few guidelines, but he's captured me perfectly.

In the first of an occasional series, Chadwell Then & Now, I present the shopping precinct in 3000bc & 2021. According to archaeologists the woman is sitting in the entrance to Betfred, the man is driving his sheep through Shoe Zone, & the hut in the distance is now Ann Summers.

Off to a book launch! - Miles Green's monumental history of our town, 'Chadwell - the First 15 Billion Years.' 400 pages are devoted to the formation of the galaxy when Chadwell was stardust. Sadly Miles can't be there - he's now a patient in Porlock Asylum. But we wish him well.

Devastated by the Russian sports ban. The council was really looking forward to welcoming Sergei Korsakov next Spring to our annual croquet tournament.
