Puffles were first sighted on Nov 15, 2005. Scientists contacted a "cow-penguin" to help catch some.

The first one was trapped in a cage on Nov 20, 2005. It was very scared.

After testing, it was let out of its cage. It was so happy, that a little tear trickled down its cheek.

Mascot backgrounds are an interesting case.

Dialogue and art confirm that mascots hand out small photographs of themselves, then sign them (much like real-life signings).

How these end up as backdrops for player card photographs is currently unclear.

Canonically, every penguin is equipped with a physical player card.

Each card is fitted with a tiny device that allows anyone to find out details about themselves. These details include:
- Your Location
- Your age (in days)
- Your buddy list

It can even mute music!

Billybob discovered the sasquatch frozen in ice, and placed a beta hat on top of his head.

Inside the ice, Sam noticed Billybob's green letterman jacket.

This places the discovery sometime after September 1, 2006, which was the day the green jacket came out.
