Both Tamagotchi! and Go-Go Tamagotchi had episodes centering around Gotchiman being replaced by girl stars of the show, because TamaPtchi noticed the girls gained more ratings and popularity.
Ironically, a similar thing would happen with the show itself from 2011-14.
