Why yes, today's playlist while writing is 1990. 102 songs, 7 hours & 54 minutes long, all kicking off with these four splendid singles.
John Totleben’s Miracleman, as taken from his & Alan Moore’s run on the character, as appropriated for a Spanish Comics Forum/Eclipse promo postcard in 1990 announcing a Spanish translation of the strip.
I've never seen these 2002 Frank Quitely covers for a Wizard reprint of 1975's Uncanny X-Men #94. Quite a comparison with the Gil Kane, Dave Cockrum,& Danny Crespi original.
Do I love them both? I most certainly do.
Dazzler sticker that came free with 1981's Captain America #3 from Marvel UK. Repurposing artwork by John Romita Jr et al, it seems an odd choice for a cover-mounted gift aimed at a predominantly young & male audience. Still, it's good to see more Dazzler merch from the period.
& it was yet another Starlin tale from which Marvel would later generate a huge deal of revenue from, as Thanos & Drax the Destroyer were further fleshed out. (At least JS appears to have successfully leveraged more than an insulting $5000 & an invite to a film premiere for that)
Giles so respected the brave work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution that he created charity Christmas cards to aid in their fund raising. The cards he created were quite beautiful, a measure of his admiration for the RNLI. An admiration that all but moral monsters share.
And of course I'd buy the comics too. All of the comics. :)
(1) Unpublished Barry Windsor-Smith cover for 1973's Tomb of Dracula #8, & (2) the published cover by Gene Colan or Rich Buckler, Tom Palmer, Gaspar Saladino, et al.
I'm glad I never had to turn down a BWS cover. I don't know how I'd do it, no matter how good the alternative.
@TristanCarlyon Totally agree. This shot has certainly stayed with me over the decades.
