...from the parade of very-tragic-happenings more toward an exploration of Emma and Angelica's relationship (as well as the former's manipulation), the story's smaller scope has come with a greater impact–its conclusion actually satisfying since it's only tasked with resolving...

The pieces are all in place for Firestar's final transition, and Shaw and Emma's plot to take Selene off the board ready to go.

But, you'll have to wait until Firestar #4 to see what happens next...

Lighting up to save her father, Angelica blasts the assailant, the full display of her powers available for all to see.

Now that her plot has gone off without a hitch, Randal is freed by his colleague and Emma pours herself a drink to celebrate her mission's success.

...multiple titles, anti-mutant hysteria and violence feels like a credible threat to mutant lives.

It gives the hatred an air of reality rather than stunt, and ups the tragedy when it makes you aware that it isn't just the X-Men who are in danger of anti-mutant violence.

...the relationship between the two is anything other than strained.

There's a great queer reading of the scene, in which Angelica's familial rejection over her identity (as a mutant) exposes her to greater risks, itself doubled down upon by her father's admission...
