@LorenLemcke You awoke my @pixelationtoday instincts ^_^. personally I would avoid double outlines (banding) and using higlights on off planes. Your edit shows your you really learnt from mine (attached) but still made it yours, kept the tail, etc. I'm glad.

figure from imagination..I bet the lighting doesnt make sense, the anatomy is a mess...but I still kinda like it so posting before I stop liking it :p
