#OnceUponAtimeMW in 1849 a mosaic was found in Cirencester during sewerage works. The discovery lead to the creation of @CoriniumMuseum. This engraving shows the Hunting Dogs Mosaic being lifted.  #beginning #origin #start #MuseumWeek

Under #Roman law it was forbidden to bury the dead inside the walls of the town. This rare enamelled cockerel figurine was found in an infant burial during excavations of the former Bridges Garage site, #Cirencester, in 2011.
