When Lionel's Angry/is in "protect mode" he slightly shapeshift: the white of his eyes turns yellow (to varying degrees) and both his teeth and nails gets significantly sharper.
So yes, Max blood does have effects on him (it only started when he truly bonded with Isaak tho)
