"On the outside we look proper and prim,
but we battle nobility's ill-advised whim:
shameless and shining, we always ask why,
for what cooks in our cauldron could call down the sky".
S.J. Tucker, "Song of the Witches"

How do you kill the hydra? Well, it depends.
Burning the neck to prevent regeneration is a recent version featuring additional help: the storyteller is trying to explain why labors were originally 10 and now we count 12. Sorry, Heracles: this one doesn't count.

In Tolkien's notes, the Mountains of Tiranny were created by Morgoth in order to conceal his fortress Angband. When the Dark Lord was defeated, Eärendil slew Ancalagon the Black and the great dragon crashed upon these mountains, destroying them.

Today's writing progress:
🍎my main character and his father had a deep conversation about apples, so I had to research ancient varieties and connect myths and God how I love writing;
⏲️we're two minutes to midnight;
🪶the Poet finally knows everything.

Today's writing progress:
🕯️did a brief research on the mythology of fireflies, because my main character needed to shed some light and he doesn't know how to breathe fire (yet);

@tkunsman There's very little material on them and lots of it indulges on the trope of the seductress or femme fatale, but they are really interesting figures. They performed dressed as men, with props such as a fanand a wooden sword.
Today's writing progress:
🔀turned around the point of view of a chapter, but I don't think we're done yet;
🔀replaced a girl with her sister, but I don't think we're done yet;
🔀saved a girl instead of another, but I don't think we're done yet.
A tentative day at best

There's a strong connection between honey and the underworld: wild hives often give the impression that bees dwell underground, and honey has preservation properties. Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, is called Melitodes, 'sweet as honey'.

Today's writing progress after a brief recess:
❌a side character lost his right to have a name;
🧚♀️I might have found a way to save the ball scene in part 1 without making a mess;
🪶still working on how to remove the stick from up the poet's arse.
