How do people keep confusing my old dumb sonic 3 render as official? It doesn't even look accurate???

I was originally gonna use a generated palette for this one swell, but I couldn't get the colors to work well, so I gave up and used actual colors from gold and silver instead.
And here's the original drawing and palette in case anyone wants to see them.
I finally got around to making a Cyclops(.gif) Character Bio and Model sheet.
He's The Mar10 brother, and plumbing is his game.
