I actually like the simplified background better.

I really need to start practicing landscapes and environments. I keep having trouble with backgrounds. I think I might delete almost all of tonight's work and go back to the simpler background?

This is one of the paintings I'm doing a formal analysis for. It's by Contemporary Symbolist @gailpotocki. This piece immediately made me think of Bella from Alix E Harrow's "The Once and Future Witches."
