It is interesting to imagine what Cromer was like in the 1800s & even 1700s, and before photography became established. These simple but charming 'pen and 'wash' images are by one Edward Pococke. Some of the streets and many if not all of the buildings no longer exist;
Today in 1802 Edwin Henry Landseer, well known for his paintings of animal was born. The best known of Landseer's works, however, are the sculptures of the lions in Trafalgar Square. We have some prints by Landseer in the #norfolkmuseumscollections inc High Life & Low Life
