I'm deep in the hole researching mandrakes (humanoid, quasi-sentient plants). Barthélemy d'Herbelot relates that after the Fall, Adam has a wet dream. When "the fecund seed of our first father fell on the earth," the mandrake was formed. So now you know! 🌱

Several years later, Mullen was outed as a gay man. London proved no more welcoming than Dublin, so Mullen moved to Barbados with his partner William O'Brien (below). Mullen died less than a year later of "excessive drink" and O'Brien likely committed suicide soon after. 😢 3/3
