The Sorrows of Vaar - the last place that The Potentate hadn't touched until a vow was broken, a secret was shared, and all hope was lost.

The Crimson Sepulcher and The Seneschal's War-Titans litter this place. The heart-sun beats gently, and foam slides back from the coast.

Some stuff is just meant to feel totally alien, creatures whose appearances express their purpose. The Potentate is little without the black pegs that support it, making clear that it's mostly a mouthpiece. The Rat King is a tangled mass with a parasitic form - it feeds.

Varn and Qlop here both worship Gravia, goddess of the sun, but Varn is more materialist and sees Gravia as a living being, plus he has a history as a mercenary. Qlop sees Gravia as more of a divine plane, and leads an ascetic existence.

Faction aesthetics need to be so distinct too, but also call back to each other. Nunzio on the left is from The New Court, and Yigi is from The Metalbusters. Both are using pieces of Crypto-Confederacy tech from different eras.

A lot of the most important duels occur on Dazeworld, a massive alloy jungle full of secrets, hidden weapons and small vermin. Fights on Dazeworld can last anywhere from days to years.

Of course, everyone knows to watch out for Dazeworld Abjurers!
