🌵Today on #DesigningDLP we take a look at some of the beautiful concept art pieces created for Frontierland:
- Thunder Mesa, by Frank Armitage
- The Molly Brown, by Nina Rae
- Big Thunder Mine, by Clem Hall
Today on #DesigningDLP we take a stroll through conceptual Fantasyland. Our beautiful land is inspired by the European themes behind Disney classics, taking Guests to places like Italy (Pizzeria Bella Notte) or England (Peter Pan’s Flight, Toad Hall Restaurant - when it’s open):
Today on #DesigningDLP we’re looking at Studio Tram Tour blue sky designs by Thom Shillinger: a “toonish” concept that progressed to 3D development, an “ATV” style vehicle and a metal “airstream” design. In the end, Disney ended up buying off the shelf trucks and painting them.
Just for today, we’re taking a look at #DesigningSDL with these stunning concept arts for Enchanted Storybook Castle & Fantasyland, Tron Lightcycle Power Run, Mickey Avenue and Adventure Isle:
Today on #DesigningDLP we look at the outstanding design of our Main Street shops with concepts for Harrington’s, Boardwalk Candy Palace, and Main Street Motors (did you know it used to have a collection of old cars on display before merchandise took over?)
Today on #DesigningDLP: Fort Comstock! The Frontierland entrance has a rich backstory: it protected Thunder Mesa from Native Americans seeking to recover the land. Its attraction “Legends of the Far West” originally ended with a Native Americans meet in the teepees just outside.
On today’s #DesigningDLP: the Disney Stars on Parade floats renderings. 3 floats were designed (Opening unit, Crush and Frozen), 3 were imported from Tokyo’s Jubilation Parade (Peter Pan, Lion King and a retheme for Toy Story), plus a copy of the Dragon from the Magic Kingdom.
Planned as a (never built) “phase 2” for Fantasyland, the Attraction was quite ambitious: a mix of a dark ride with a large Beast animatronic, walkthrough attraction and meet and greet with Belle. It would have been located on the extension pad near Pizzeria Bella Note.
For good hand-washing technique, we recommend singing “On Our Way” from the Jungle Book Jive, in your head or very loudly:
A new Pandora charm celebrating Cheshire Cat and Alice's Curious Labyrinth will be available in the Resort's Pandora locations starting tomorrow, March 12:
