While everyone's freaking out over the new Sonic movie, I'd like to remind you all of a previous failed Sonic movie pitch. Here's concept art for "Sonic Armageddon", drawn by Ken Penders.

It was pitched to Dreamworks in 2002 but to our knowledge, it never got further than that.

This style of papercraft is called Cubeecraft and people still make them to this day. A quick Google search should find the print-outs for them. Also I did not include the Tails one in the original image, so here's a page from it. These were released around 2009-2010.

Official images of early prototypes of the ReSaurus Sonic Adventure series one figures. While the figures look similar to the final releases, their eyes are notably off.

Concept art for the TOMY Classic Sonic Ultimate figure! Here we can see all of the accessories included, as well as an early mock up of the packaging that uses TomothyS's Classic Sonic render (a fan render!).
