Here are some of the early concept art for Blaze the Cat in Sonic Rush.

Blaze's initial design was also the design for a female rival for Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2 before Shadow's inception so in a way Blaze was the original Shadow next to his original male concept, Terios.

Here is early concept art for Shahra the Genie of the Ring and Erazor Djinn the Genie of the Lamp.

Also a bonus fact, Erazor's later/final design had some inspiration from Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

This is a detail also shared by Wave the Swallow and Blaze the Cat where Wave would use lines from Blaze in Sonic Rush because they shared the same VA at the time

When the Sonic 06 port for the Wii was finally dropped, Sonic Team started work on Sonic Wild Fire or "Sonic and the Secret of the Rings" which were the original prototype names of Sonic and the Secret Rings.

As of today everyone I'm switching things up, this daily isn't gonna be just for Sonic 06 but for the entire mid 2000's era of Sonic or the "Dark Age" (2005-2009). This way I'll be able to cover more games and content for everyone to enjoy.
