IDW’s Sonic comic is the first time in the main timeline Silver turns super. Silver only ever turned super in Sonic 06, before the timeline was reset for the those events to never happen. Since then, Super Silver has never been in any games or even in the Archie comics.

The Babylonians were a race of alien birds. They’re now ancient and what remains are the bird characters we see today. With this in mind, along with similarities in thievery and flying machines, The Battle Bird Armada and other such characters are also descendants of Babylon.

Mr. Tinker, the identity Eggman takes on when he loses his memory, is likely based on Dr. Kintobor, who in the original lore was Robotnik before he turned evil. He also has the same color scheme as Eggman’s original protagonist design.

Happy birthday, Miles Prower! Better known as Tails, Miles debuted in Sonic 2 on the SEGA Game Gear! When creating Tails, he was originally going to be a flying tanooki! But this was changed due to Mario’s flying Tanooki suit.

Bean’s father is Bin from Dynamite Düx on the SEGA arcade and Master System. In the game Fighters Megamix, Bean and Bark are unlockable characters and Bean has an alternate skin that allows you to play as Bin.

Charmy Bee didn’t debut in Knuckles Chaotix in 1995 on the SEGA 32X, and Amy didn’t debut in Sonic CD in 1993. Both originally came from the Sonic the Hedgehog manga that ran from ‘92-‘94. They were adapted into the games later on.

In his first debut as simply “Naugus” in the SatAM cartoon, he had a tail. However, when he was introduced in the Archie comics as Ixis Naugus, he didn’t have a tail until his body was burnt morphed in change after the Genesis Wave. In the reboot, Walter Naugus has his tail again

Sonic Generations wasn’t the first time Sonic has Sonic of the past and present joined forces. In Archie’s Sonic X #25, Classic Sonic is an artificial Sonic made to pose as the real one. Classic Sonic even met a younger version of himself in Sonic Satam.
