Lots of people call Zeke complex because of his backstory and motivations, but I don't think so. What truly makes him so great is how he factors into the themes of AOT, acting as a foil to Armin's optimism, by being a nihilistic man who challenges Armin's hope for a better world.
People who say Mikasa is a one-dimensional character who only cares about Eren and no one else are ignoring all the moments where she has shown concern for others. He hesitating to kill R and B, crying for Armin and Sasha, her concern for Historia...she is not Eren-obsessed...
