though if I had to be serious for a moment I think they're both great designs I just kinda prefer the banbuds redesign.
kinda helps him stick out a little more and I like imagining tricky being slightly bigger than the rest. just aesthetic preferences though, nothing major.

and if you wanna know what Spookleg looked like throughout the years between then and now, here's 2019, 2020 (before I initially decided to just do the "Lucina's Mansion" art special instead), and now in 2021, my personal favorite of the bunch (3/3)

was digging through my old archives and I found the earliest drawing I've made of Spookleg, dated 10/3 of 2018

so despite me being late to start the special on October 1st as promised this year, I still landed on an important date, being this character's creation (1/3)

(breaking character for a moment, I'm really glad of how this turned out. it's a big glow up over last year's. yeah this is how "the woods" originated.
would've added the grave but the banner was already quite crowded. bonus points to those who recognize where it's from though.)
