Puffin was mystified by the fact everyone assumed he was a sociable bird. He couldn't deny that he was good in social situations (his banter was splendid), but he much preferred his own company.

Fox talked to herself all the time.
She’d often discuss her favourite colour of leaf or mumble about the weather. She made sure to give herself a compliment everyday though. Her opinion was the most important one after all, so she may as well remind herself how lovely she was 🧡
