An often overlooked period of gear history doesn't relate to the battlefield or crime-ridden industrial cities. The helmets and uniforms of firefighters from the past, as well as the history of the profession, is incredibly fascinating.

While many see the American Civil War as a parade of forage-cap crowned lines of grey and blue, there was a lot of really unique and interesting uniforms worn by both sides.

The G*rmanic / Nordic identity and self-imposed "stoicism" is a mutation of Finnish sisu. The Nazis knew this (Himmler and Hitler were obsessed with Finland) but they couldn't comprehend the Kalev mindset because G*rmanics take themselves too seriously.
That's the old school way.
