Final Fantasy 4 has some references to the Tower of Babel found in the Old Testament.

The biggest reference in that game is Kain and his strongest spear Abel’s Lance. Just like how Cain kills Abel out of jealousy in the OT, Kain in FF4 attempts to kill Cecil after betraying him.

Aamon’s Evolved Form is a recolored version to that of Psaro the Manslayer, which could mean that this physical appearance is the ideal transformation of the Secret of Evolution.

Though… If it weren’t for the yellow eyes, crimson red claws and horns… then maybe…

So I didn’t do a Final Fantasy Friday as I said I would, but here’s a Final Fantasy Fact.

Emperor Mateus from Final Fantasy 2 is also called Emperor Bowie by some parts of the Final Fantasy community.

Mateus and David Bowie kinda do look alike.

In the NES/FC version of DQ4, the Liquid Metal Shield can be bought at the Casino for 50K Tokens. In the remakes however, the shield is now in the possession of the Medal King and will only give it away for 52 Mini Medals.

We can assume that he won the shield fair and square.

They both possess the name Green Dragon, but the bipedal dragon was given the name Jade Dragon due to Green Dragon appearing alongside it in Dragon Quest 7.

That doesn’t stop Jade Dragon from taking the name Green Dragon whenever the original isn’t present…

In the remakes of Dragon Quest 4, there are two things that changed when fighting Marquis de Léon:

If the party gets defeated by Léon, then their gold remains untouched.

Upon his defeat, he returns back to normal while losing memory of his evil deeds as opposed to dying.

In Japanese, these two have the same names. The only difference is that the words are flipped.

Black Slime is called Slime Dark (スライムダーク) while Dark Slime is called the same thing as their english name. (ダークスライム)

Dragon Quest 5 had the least amount of bug monsters in the Bug Family. The these two monsters (along with their only variants) were the only species of bugs monsters that appeared.

Despite sharing the same name, there’s no relation between the Dragon Quest Slimecicle and the Youtuber Slimecicle.

Midenhall’s Prince and Moonbrooke’s Princess shares a history to where their hairstyles are changed up in most games/illustrations they star in.

For the princess, it’s usually purple, blonde or pink.

For the prince, it’s usually black, dark brown, and most recently white.
