Which of these two should I paint / render?

I did a holiday art trade with @Iceshta. Look how cute she made Flicker! And her character was super cute and fun to draw. I used this as an excuse to start learning procreate.

Here's some of my recent art. I've drawn every day for 22 months now. Primarily I enjoy drawing cute stuff, but I've been trying to experiment a bit more lately.

Character design concept - Galleon

He's an old captain with a prosthetic jaw and shell. Manning the ship is his first mate, Hatch, a plucky little mouse. He uses a hydraulic anchor as a crutch. It also serves as to keep him rooted when firing the cannon.
