Toei's design choices for Laura are really good. Her design is less revealing than the typical sea shell bra, but it's obviously not regular human clothing. The ribbon decoration works way better than the rings they used in Mermaid Melody. #precure
There's a well-regarded Spanish movie named Marcelino Pan y Vino from 1955 about an orphan that finds a living Jesus statue on a crucifix, feeds him and gets killed ("dies happily) by the statue as reward. There's a cartoon spin-off.
I know kodomo anime love their mascots with their baby speech and verbal tics, but having 6 episodes without one was really refreshing. Laura is a great mascot. For animal-like mascots, ironically I think Sakutaro is one of the best ones in both behaviour and design.
