Trying to decipher clues about this unknown hipster soldier.
My guess so far is he is a Captain (probably higher) in the 2nd Dragoon Guards in the late 1700's. Anyone?

Great old sword coming up for auction. A c.1750 English dragoon backsword according to my bumper book of swords. Possible participant in the seven years and American revolutionary wars. Lost its grip but unusually still has the leather liner and scabbard!
