Most Black women depicted have minimal clothing, barefoot or sandaled. Juxtaposed w “Las Tapadas.” The idea the “honorable/respectable,” are covered. But “las tapadas” were criolla mestizas who wanted to “show up” Spaniard women by showing a sliver of leg which was “scandalous”
