And though I still feel i have some way to go, for a schmuck like me, the @DeviantArt community has played a huge role in helping make what was once insurmountable feel a little easier to scale.

And in interacting with that community, in listening to their criticisms, in reading the thousands of community-created tutorials posted up on @DeviantArt, my standard of artwork has undoubtedly and significantly improved.

My artwork was primitive, juvenile even, I only had access to a lightbox, a cheap scanner, and a second-hand copy of Photoshop Elements 3 (but no tablet) back then.

And my style? Who am I kidding, I had no style back then. Though some would argue I still don't.
