The main character is a Newt called Smirk. He lost everyone in his life and he has no talents or schooling to be anything and is living on the street, till a chance to get into a sepcial space program gave him the opporunity to become someone.

It is a very deep story but looks 'cartoony' at first but every character has deep emotional backstories which get revealed and maybe solved during the show.
