@GNutsofHorror Remember when books were fun and the internet was less of a dumpster fire for meanness 😫😫😫🥺🥺😭😭
If people didn’t love the concept of books or quests for knowledge or escapism, none of us would be able to do what we do (reading, writing, illustrating) — there’s a book and author and reviewer out there for everyone!!
@mariebluexo @BenOakleyAuthor You know there’s multiple kinds of art styles. An artists rate is also comprised of: cost of living, rent, materials/programs used, licensing original work, personal food/medical costs, time and education spent to get to their skill, etc. Artists work and deserve their set rate!
@lunae_dies That thread is SO CURSED And we’ve dropped this in more replies than we can count
@lurioosi @BenOakleyAuthor Art is a trade and requires education and dedication to get to higher skill levels. Artists spend time learning, practicing, honing skills, money on licensing images and fonts and on programs and materials. They deserve to be paid for their work. There’s art for every budget.
@lurioosi @BenOakleyAuthor Artists and designers charge their rates according to their time, skill, cost of living, licensing fees, etc. There’s artwork/an artist out there for every budget. It’s ok if something isn’t in your price range, but what we won’t do is disparage/ belittle someone’s work/rate.
