My lighting game is so fucking good, y'all. I could be doing more but real shit when I started adding overlays of varying hues to my work it really helped make things pop. Warm tones almost glow against cool ones, and even if it's a simple one it adds so much.
I'm also not afraid to get weird with textures and the like anymore. I went to school for graphic design so being able to combine design elements I vibe with, with my own illustrations is always very cool and gives some pieces a very unique atmosphere/vibe.
