Apparently the rumor was false and completely a Misunderstanding. That reminds it was Dojima original design looks too suspicious and looks like a culprit instead.

alright i just think about it and it seems just make sense.
It seems like Akechi and shido's father and son relationship were based on Logh Characters, Adrian Rubinsky and Rupert Kesserling.
