Thought I'd share the technique I use to do rocks, mountains, and most things stone-related in backgrounds.

Best practice? Probably not (I'm still learning too), but might give you ideas or a base to work with. :)

It certainly looks like @TeoTheHyena has the upper hand, but see that cheeky lick? Who's the real winner here? 🐾
