Starting the last full week of #DailyDragon sketches with this one from the banks of the small streams that flow through the Dark Woods. It preys on the birds and amphibians that are drawn there by cold, clear water running off the nearby slopes of Garn Wen.
Quick studies for a new painting, but can’t settle on a colour scheme. Which would you choose? Or something different?

(9/10) Whilst some dragons bear a resemblance to more familiar creatures, others are strange beyond belief, unknown to science and unique to this small corner of Wales...
Today’s #DailyDragon is small, shy and herbivorous. Despite this it is also one of the most deadly. The vivid markings on its wings are a warning to any would-be predator that this species is highly poisonous. Glands on the tips and undersides of the wings excrete a lethal toxin.
After @Museum_Cardiff shared their fab mammoth skeleton on Twitter yesterday, and having recently re-watched @theAliceRoberts equally fab Secrets from the Ice, I thought I’d do a very quick (and not very accurate) scribble of this former Welsh resident.
