As cool as the redesigns of Richie and Frieda are, they are completely wasted. The friendship with Virgil is so surface level that's genuinely surprising that they are part of the climax. And they contribute to any at all.

Why make Daisy a bang baby if A) she's the one needing to be rescued and B) Virgil's non powered friends are doing the rescuing? She uses her powers once. It was so unnoticeable I missed it on my first read.

This big bad of the Static comic is Agent Jones and he is boring. Despite being a "scary government agent" no one fears or respects him. And his dialogue is cringe.

Sifu is what The Quiet Man should have been.

Virgil fought Hotstreak 4 times in the new Static comic. And he stands up to him every time. Each fight was an overwhelming victory. Nothing was learned and no insecurities were overcome. Hotstreak was just meant slapped around and wasn't a serious threat.
