This set of Spanish watercolour drawings by Francisco Ferreras depict a ‘locomotora’, a Watt steam engine, and a plan and elevation of a gear and shaft. They are dated between August 1890 and July 1891.

William Butterfield’s block plan for the Coleridge family’s home, Heath’s Court of St Mary’s Ottery, Devon, 1880-3. He was commissioned for extensive renovations following Lady Coleridge’s death in 1878, including an expansive library and stables.

Following yesterday’s post on the £800 timber house, here is a drawing for the 1932 competition for an £1000 All British House. The home is in a flat roofed modern style with a pool and impressive garden and view, designed by Hardy Architects of Bournemouth.
