Years after posting, it sparked a 4chan flame war over whether the lack of skin was wholesome or sexist.
Truthfully, I just liked bats and wanted to make her wings a cape.
I would later pencil a Rouge story in an official IDW comic.

Cavan Scott left a lot up to artistic interpretation. However, they *were* described as “ultra cute.”

Here's that Sonic 22 cvr B variant w/out text.
It was fun using ink wash again. Traditional media seemed to fit the atmosphere.
The most surprising thing about IDW is that I don't end up being tasked with drawing something happening, rather the eerie moment before it.
